Fala is a versatile companion, designed to encourage daily mobility and to keep our surroundings in order. It is a yoga block that doubles as a smartphone holder and a tray for organizing small items around us. Fast-paced everyday life induces change not only in our lives but also in our living spaces - homes very often become offices, gyms, and chill zones at the same time. Falka explores the way that objects change their character or function within our dynamic lifestyles, and how they shape our everyday landscape.
Informed by the gesture of holding, its shape and proportion draw inspiration from traditional yoga props. From balancing postures and stretching to supported backbends, a block can allow you to go a little deeper into a pose, and support the body throughout the practice.
It is made of CNC milled cork - a tough, durable, and recyclable material with a great resilience-to-weight ratio. Its cellular structure creates thermal insulation. As a result, cork is warm, tactile and its subtle appearance blends easily with the surrounding space.
