The technology of producing ceramics has always been an important part of culture all over the world. For
me, it is an utterly interesting, but also quite challenging process. It demands a massive amount of
precision, patience and dedication, and still - even if it's fully domesticated and seemingly foolproff - it can
be unpredictable in the most unexpected moments. There is something magical about the transformation
of a milky textured fluid into a stiff and durable object. Although there are some limitations of shapes that
can be casted in a traditional way, nowadays almost everything is possible due to 3d printing. I was looking
for a possibility, to make the whole process more dynamic, freeform and organic. The seat was created by pouring molten water-based resin into a balloon and squeezing it by a press built specifically for the process. The pressure applied evenly on the balloon made it embrace the steel frame and created a stiff connection with no need of any additional elements. In the end - the process did not demand a typical mould, that would determine the final shape of the seat, and the result was different everytime. Blobb lets us notice the invisible tension of the fluid and makes the applied pressure tangible.
